Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bringfire Games, LLC (“Bringfire Games”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with Rook — the Rook plug-ins for Rhino 3D and Grasshopper, the Rook MCP server, and the accompanying skills, hooks, agents, knowledge stores, and tools (the “Software”).
1. Our approach
Section titled “1. Our approach”Rook is a desktop plug-in, not a cloud service. It is local-first and bring-your-own-key (BYOK). As a result, we collect little to no personal information, and your design content never passes through our systems. The sections below describe what that means in practice.
2. Information we do not collect
Section titled “2. Information we do not collect”Through normal use of the Software, we do not collect:
- your Rhino or Grasshopper files, geometry, or models;
- your prompts, instructions, or other Inputs;
- the geometry, images, meshes, text, or other Outputs the Software produces;
- your API keys or provider credentials; or
- account information — because the Software does not require an account with us.
3. Your content stays with you
Section titled “3. Your content stays with you”The content you provide to the Software (“Inputs”) and the results it produces (“Outputs”) are processed locally on your device. When you use an AI feature, the request is sent directly from your device to the third-party provider you have configured (for example, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Ollama, LM Studio, fal.ai, Replicate, or Tencent). We do not operate servers that receive, relay, or store your Inputs or Outputs, and we do not use them to train any model.
Generated artifacts and the knowledge Rook builds up are stored locally on your device.
4. Credentials and API keys
Section titled “4. Credentials and API keys”To use AI features you supply your own provider credentials and API keys. These are stored locally on your device and used to communicate directly with the providers you select. We do not receive or store them. You are responsible for keeping them secure and for any charges your providers bill to you.
5. Third-party providers
Section titled “5. Third-party providers”When you use an AI provider through Rook, your use of that provider is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy and terms — not this one. We do not control how third-party providers collect, use, retain, or transfer data. Please review the policies of any provider you configure.
The Software also runs within Rhino 3D and Grasshopper, software of Robert McNeel & Associates, which is governed by McNeel’s own terms and policies.
6. Diagnostic and usage information
Section titled “6. Diagnostic and usage information”The Software may, where applicable, transmit minimal diagnostic or usage information (such as version or error information) to help us maintain and improve it. Any such information excludes your Inputs, Outputs, prompts, files, and credentials. Where this is optional, you may disable it. We do not use diagnostic information to identify you or to build a profile of you, and we do not sell it.
7. This documentation website
Section titled “7. This documentation website”This website is published as static pages (for example, via GitHub Pages or a similar host). We do not add advertising or cross-site tracking to it. The hosting provider may automatically log standard technical request information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of serving the site; that processing is governed by the host’s own privacy policy.
8. Cookies and analytics
Section titled “8. Cookies and analytics”The Software does not use cookies. We do not add third-party advertising or behavioral-analytics trackers.
9. Data retention
Section titled “9. Data retention”Because we do not receive your Inputs, Outputs, files, or credentials, we do not retain them. Any minimal diagnostic information (Section 6), if collected, is kept only as long as needed for the purpose described and is then deleted or de-identified.
10. Security
Section titled “10. Security”Your Software, content, and credentials live on your device, so their security depends on your device’s security. We design the Software to keep your content and keys local. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your device, files, and credentials.
11. Your rights
Section titled “11. Your rights”Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR/UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. Because we hold little or no personal information about you, in many cases we will have nothing to act on; where we do, you may contact us using Section 13 and we will respond as required by applicable law.
12. Children
Section titled “12. Children”Rook is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will address it.
13. International users
Section titled “13. International users”Rook operates locally on your device. Where you choose to use a third-party provider, that provider may process your data in other countries under its own terms. Any limited diagnostic information we receive may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
14. Changes to this policy
Section titled “14. Changes to this policy”We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the Effective Date above and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Software after an update means you accept the revised policy.
